I'm selling my '03 Cobra and I have a couple of people that are going to see the car in person. Looking for opinions.....at what point should I let someone test drive the car? How should I cover myself if they should test drive it and something happens to the car? No test drives allowed and I take them for a drive? Thanks for any help.

Cash talks. You don't want some idiot wrecking your car. I would take them for a ride and then go from there.

I want to see that they have some money in hand first. Then I'll talk with them a while, and try to gauge their intelligence and knowledge of cars in general. I'm not going to let some idiot learn how to drive manual on my car, then not buy it.

I talk to them a good bit about it first, offer a ride, and if they have money already arranged, they can drive it back from our test ride.

With that said, I will never buy a car I can't drive first.
