I have a question for Illinois LEOs if we have happen to have any reading this.

I've read the Illinois State Police brochure on lawful firearm transport, but I still have a question that didn't quite get answered in their documentation.

Can I legally transport my firearm in a backpack while riding my motorcycle assuming the following conditions are met?

1. The gun is unloaded.
2. The gun is in a case.
3. I have my FOID card with me.

If the answer is yes, can the magazines be loaded since I store two in my case as long as they aren't actually in the gun?

The Illinois State Police pamphlet includes motorcycles. The gun must be unloaded and in a container with the driver possessing an Illinois FOID card. Magazines can be loaded and in the case as long as the gun is not loaded.

Thanks. I just wanted clarification that a backpack was covered under lawful transport since my bike has no storage at all.
