My old dd is a 95' ford escort, and I need to get it on the road so my mom can drive it for a while. Unfortunately, it has a plastic fuel tank and it has developed a leak along a plastic welded hardware attachment point. Ford issued a recall on these cars for this problem, but this car was never serviced. Is there any way to repair this tank? Unfortunately, there is no replacement tanks available used in the state. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do? Thanks.

if ford issued a recall why not just take it to them, especially seeing the service has not been done on that vehicle?

Id imagine you can jb weld but if its covered under a recall let them deal with it. Every 2g either I buy or my friends purchase I always tell them to get the lower control arm ball joint recall done, you get free lower control arms if they run your vin and see it hasnt been done yet. How awesome is that!
