Why are L parts so expensive? I just finished making my trac-bars today and all I paid was $21.95. Im planing on installing my own elec. fan which im pretty sure I can get at a junk yard in Mex. for less than $20. Had my gears Isntalled and the rear axle overhauled for $150. Why??

Done all that, now the real stuff:
_________ Light_____Stang
T-body____$475 ____$150
electric fan_$500 ____$inc
gears ______$400 ____$150
pulleys ____$450____$100 (for sc)
cat-back___$500 ____$250
headers ___$700 ____$150
SC _______$3000____$2000
converter___$900____$250
built tranny_$600_____$2500
built motor__$1500____$3500
I used to be a mustang guy and the mods on an L are up there. but I've never been as happy with a stang than with my L. I've also never owned a car for so long and I dont plan on selling it. I would like to buy one of those 2003 cobras, but who wouldn't.

The parts are pretty expensive but very worth it. After I install the trac-bars, i think ill be done moding my truck, what more faster do i want to go? Its fast enough and im very happy with the results. Once my truck reaches the rebuilding stage then ill go with a built motor, ported heads, cams and all that nice stuff.

But Larry, if you just buy those parts you listed you cant say that you owned a Lightning powered by "Mexican Junkyard!" :)

I think we are very lucky to live on a border town. we get a lot of advantages. wan't to port your heads? how's $400 for a full port and polish job done with an air flow meter. want to paint your car? how's $200 for labor plus paint. Dupont paint $300. thats $500 for the whole job. My brother paid $20 labor to put his flowmasters in his stang. I just bought him a rear end 4.10s trac loc for $100.
I own an autodismantler in mex and I buy every car in the US and export it. same cars. You just save on labor. 1 employee, 60hrs per week = $90 (very well paid).
