I have developed a very odd knocking sound coming from the front suspension. I generally only hear it when crusing along at 20-40 mph. It comes at random intervals, ussually a few seconds apart, and does not change frequency or pitch as speed increases. It doesn't happen all the time, and does not seem isolated to when the car is cold, or after being driven hard.

Its a hard sound to describe, but its similar to how it sounds when you overtorque a bolt and it snaps. It causes a small vibration when it happens that I can feel in my feet.

My suspension mods are: H&R springs w/ koni adjustables on MM isolators. Steeda balljoints and CC plates. MM bumpsteer.
This problem does not come right after the install of any of those mods.

All guesses are welcome, as I've crawled underneath the car quite a bit and haven't found anything broken.

Maybe one of the balljoints is faulty? Did you replace both inner and outer tierod joints?
