[QUOTE="badjuicedgt, post: 16319983, member: 175982"] know what i hate is the fact people would rather send money to some place in africa to help feed people there, why dont we take care of the homeless and starving in our country first. Back in May before I really started to go down hill I was in one of the bigger towns actually where I worked as a firefighter and paramedic and on the corner at the stop light was an older guy that was holding a sign that said homeless need heart medication. So I pulled up and asked him where his prescription was at and it was across the street at kroger. SO i told him I wouldnt give him money because I didnt want him to go use it for beer or drugs, I told him to go to kroger and I would meet him there so I met him out front and went inside with him and bought his heart medicine and a bottle of water. I asked him when the last time he ate was and he said the day before so I told him to wait in the front of Kroger outside I went up and got him Mcdonalds so in all it cost me a little over 80 bucks and kept the guy out of the hospital it was worth it. I am surprised that I have made it this long and not had the lung issues show up sooner I have 2 buddies that were about 10 years older than me and both have died do to lung issues, we all did the same jobs we were all volunteer firefighters I was the only one that went full time. We all ended up in new your on 9-12-01 and were all there for 3 weeks. The charity thing the reason I didnt and havent filled for disability is I didnt want to feel like a charity case I see all kinds of people on disability and can believe how many say its from being over weight and I would rather go out and go to work than sit at home and let everyone else pay for me. kind of like chevy and dodge we are all paying for those cars even if we dont own one.
