**WARNING: VIDEO IS VERY SHAKY**
Well, I finally did it!!!
09-09-2012 @ Dallas Raceway
Video Link: Killspray's First 10-sec Pass
All runs with the following:
Tires @ 15psi
Boost @ 18psi
Fuel was 2parts C16, 1part 93octane
Run 1:
First time to track in a while... Crappy burnout resulted in me spinning hard out of the hole, almost hit the wall a few times, was in and out of the throttle the whole time.
2-step @ 4,800
Time:
60' - 1.925
1/8 - 7.786
MPH - 102.94
1/4 - 11.960
MPH - 102.73
Run 2:
Better burnout and lowered 2-step just in case... Car was pulling hard to the left (wall side) so I was letting off the throttle about 25% at upper RPMs in 2nd, 3rd & 4th. Was a bit nervous.
2-step @ 4,500
Time:
60' - 1.781
1/8 - 7.551
MPH - 98.02
1/4 - 11.479
MPH - 129.10
Run 3:
No change on setup. Decided to hold on to steering wheel with both hands in between gear shifts which allowed me to stay off the wall. Only lifted throttle a little bit on the upper RPMs... was still a little nervous. You'll notice on video a puff of smoke as I cross the finish line... my down pipe disconnected itself from the rest of the exhaust... combination of bottoming out repetitively on the street and back pressure most likely. Sorry for the shakiness of the video, my wife wanted to watch me with her own eyes rather than through the camera. If you pause it at the end, you can clearly see my time and mph on the boards.
My wife laughs at the end because this was her first time at the drag strip and I explained to her my goal has always been to run a "10.99" which would allow me to say I have a 10-sec car... Pretty sweet since that's exactly what I ran!
2-step @4,500
Time:
60' - 1.693
1/8 - 7.202
MPH - 103.81
1/4 - 10.990
MPH - 130.22
Future Plans:
Heading back to the track this Friday and will hopefully get some better times and better video. Cobra's getting an oil change, plugs checked and last but not least... a front end alignment. Might be a good idea since I'll be running 130+ MPH.
