KB 1.5 on 97 - do I need a new throttle cable?

FInally getting to my KB1.5 install. The instructions I got from KB appear to say that I need a new throttle accelerator cable which is supplied with the original kit. I bought this kit used with no accelerator cable.

THis is the first I have heard about needing a new throttle accelerator cable. Has anyone else run into this? Did you need the KB supplied accelerator cable?
