JLP Box

I have the JLP Box and I was wondering if this hurts the air flow. I was playing around today and took the box out and just ran the lfp kit. With the lfp kit it seems liked I had more air flow going to the truck. I know the box helps out with the heat but in 65 degree weather does it really matter?

Even though the design is different I went from a MAC open filter CAI unit to a Chickenears Cool-aid and my truck runs a hell of alot better now the filter is semi closed in.
