This might be the wrong place for posting this and I am sure I will hear crap over this, but a Co-worker want's to do some bolt on's for his son's 06 GTI 1.8 turbo. Since I am the car guy at our shop, he is going to pay me to buy and install the stuff which is no big deal, other than Nuespeed are there any other performance places that are ok to deal with. One good thing about it he is not into the coffee can exhuast and all the ricer bling. He just wants to add 20-30 HP to it with the standard bolt ons. I used to be a car chief for a SCCA World challenge BMW Touring Car Team so the European stuff doesn't bother me. I just have never had to source performance parts for a VW.

add some sort of programming, APR GIAC. etc.
Get some exhaust and an intake. The 3 should be right about the goal +/-

APR makes alot of nice stuff, i had their stage 3+ kit on my 02 gti it was so much fun to drive and made 300whp on pump gas. http://goapr.com

i should've went with that on my jetta when I had it, I went custom (t3/t4) and ended up spending more money then getting an APR kit and it was nowhere near as reliable, as my friends' gti with an apr kit. but it made tons more power..... lesson learned i guess.
