I still have the stock inlet with the ribs on it, but I have a K&N ram air type filter on it. Is that tube actually a restriction or more cosmetic to replace?
Thanks.

I think where the most HP is gained is from the filter itself. A lot of ppl have stock inlet tube with k&n filter.

My local dyno shop says they have dynoed both ways (CAI and filter/adapter w/stock duct) and said there was no noticeable improvement with an aftermarket CAI. So you can just by the adapter and filter and save some $$$ for your next mod!

I disagree. The JLT RAI is what I did my research on and was very happy from switch from the K&N. It helped my pullied car go from K&N, stock exhaust to catback and JLT, gained about 25HP
