In the KB manual it calls for straight 50 synthetic. But I see people are buying 15w-50. Is that considered straight 50, or is SAE 50 considered straight 50.

I am asking because some people are using 15w-50 in their blowers.

perhaps im stuck in the stone age where there were still straight viscosity oils. with a multi-viscosity oil, the number on the left is the base weight, and the number on the right is what viscosity the oil is when hot. i'd ask the kb people for clarification, if you purchased it straight from them.

Yeah, I saw the valvoline, but it was a blend. I need full synthetic.

Look at this page for red line. This is why I am confused.

It says SAE 50 but in parenthesis, it says 15w50 ??? I dont know what I am supposed to do.
