I want to get a wider tire for my truck. I currently have 295/40/20 on mine. They no longer make 305/40/20 unfortunatley, but I have found several tires in the 305/45/20 range. I just wanted to know if anybody has a pic of a L with this size and if there are any rubbing problems with these.

305/45/20 is a BIG tire.

HD's come with 275/45/20's stock. 295/40/20's are about 3/4" shorter than stock. 295/45/20's are about 3/4" taller than stock (what I run). 305/45/20's are going to be even bigger, way too big for a HD, let alone a L!

305/40/20's are nearly the exact same OD as the stock 275/45/20's

I have 305/45/20 on 10 wide wheels no rubbing at all and 275/40/20 on the front but the ABS gets screwed up on hard stopping because of diameter difference I took some pics for you.

295/40/20 is optimal for handling and traction...thats about as wide as you wanna go unless you have at least a 10 inch wide wheel .. I have have had both and the 295 are only 10 millimeters smaller which is a fingernail lol

I will get some pics up later, camera needs batteries. Thanks for the pics RUN4 your setup looks good. I'm just trying to keep the same size front and back if possible.

also keep in mind, 45 series sidewalls aren't all the same height, so just make sure you understand tire sizing fully and it'll help you pick out a tire. 45 isn't the sidewall height, its the aspect ratio of the tread width to the sidewall height. So a 295/45/20 tire is 295 mm wide, and the sidewall is 45% of that 295mm.

So 20's with 45 sidewall, a 275/45/20 has a smaller sidewall than a 295/45/20 which has a smaller sidewall than a 305/45/20.

And to check your tire size in relation to stock, try out this website (yes, it's a miata site, but it works really well).
