Is any gear whine normal?

Is it normal to hear any gear noise in the terminator? I notice as I slowly accelerate, I can hear a whine that sounds like it's from the gears. It is obvious under very light load such as holding 1800rpm in 4th gear. If I let up on the gas it goes away, or if I accelerate harder it changes volume. Should you be able to hear any gear noise at all? I can't remember if the car was like this before, but my warranty is coming to an end soon and if it's a problem I want to get it taken care of. I do know other cars I ride in make no tranny noise so I'm wondering if this is normal for the cobra or not.

the tranny may whine a little bit, but the rear end should be quiet if the gears were setup properly.

real true from the factory rearend is for the most part good ...if someone replaced them ..prooly have a whine especially with motiv gears..
