Ok guys, got my IRS removed today to do bushings and what do ya know .. looks like the CV boot cracked a long time ago and leaked out not sure when, I just got the car.

Wondering what axle shaft I should get .. not looking to drop $1000 on them .. stock car for now.
Hopefully procharger later this year but even then I'd push less than 490

what spline shaft are you? 99 Cobra had 28, replacements are available cheap at part store. 31 spline gets very expensive , every other year cobra :)

I'd find someone to reboot the shaft if it's in working condition. even on eBay used people want way too much for that they are.

When I pulled the IRS out of my 01, I found used 03-04 shafts. They are direct replacement. I do have my stock ones with 55k on them in the garage. I am in Toledo if you are close.

When I rebuilt mine, I put 03-04 shafts in. With the upgraded bushings, you should be fine anything under 600hp. What bushings did you go with? You might as well upgrade everything since you have the IRS out if you have the money. I did FTBR full kit + MM coilovers and powdercoated everything. Night and day difference.
