So you guys that have swapped an IRS into your 94/98's are you guys running into the rubbing on the mounting bolt problem? I'm running a 285 rear and I had them off the other day and noticed a very scary scenario and I need to figure it out before I buy new tires.
I know people are running a wider tire than me how are you getting around the rubbing?
Not sure if it matters but my rims are the new edge off set in the rear
Here are some pics

By "new edge" offset are you talking about 99-04 or 05-up? 99-04 uses the same offset as 94-98 so you shouldn't have any issues unless you're running 05-up offset. I'm running 17x11s with 315s and I still have about 3/8"-1/2" of clearance before the tire rubs on the low pro bolt.

I have Cobra r 17x10.5s with 275's and don't rub there at all. But I do rub on the fenders quite a bit sometimes. Need to roll them asap

I've always been told the 99/04 have a little different offset because the rear is a little wider. Maybe a bad assumption on my part?
Thats the thing that confuses me How can you get a 315/17 back there with no problem but my 285/17 rubs on the low profile bolt

I don't believe the 99-04 wheels have a different offset then the 94-98 wheels. What are your actual wheels that you are running?

The only difference between the 94-98 cars from the 99-04's is that the fenders are a little wider but the wheel well around the frame is the same. The reason they made the rear ends wider for the 99-04 cars was to compensate for the added width of the fenders which meant that if they kept the width of the 94-98 rear ends then the wheels would have more of a sunken in look. So if you're using any 94-04 wheel then you should not be rubbing the inside bolt.

The rims I'm having the rubbing issue with are American Racing 200s rims. I bought the rims used from someone that had them on a 99/04 so I assume they where meant for a Mustang. I have to put my track tires on tonight so I will measure the backspacing to see If that is what the problem is

wheels are 17X9.5 I measure a 6.25in backspacing. I think that might be my issue right there?
