OK, folks, on Monday I had my Invinca-Shield installed. The work was done by Dan Smith at Glass Tint Specialists in Maple Shade, NJ. Dan is incredibly conscientious, and really knows his stuff. He is highly certified by X-Pel, who make a product similar to Invinca-Shield, though I already had my IS kit so he agreed to install it. A few points:

I was very, very pleased by Dan's work. If you want a shield like this installed, and can get to him, call 856-482-2288.

Why didn't I do it myself? Although some parts look fairly simple, if you have the complete Cobra kit, you are looking at a lot of pieces that are not so simple to install. Dan spent more than 6 hours doing my Cobra. It costs $400+ for the install, but these shields aren't cheap and there is a pretty good potential for user-install screwup. Take a look at our first illustration, and you'll see why it was worth getting it done right. The complete Invinca-Shield kit:

Don't see much, do you? That's the point  The close up pics that follow required the use of a polarizer on my camera and careful angling of the sun to make the lines show up. From four feet or so away, you can't see a thing. Pretty amazing! And even when you can see a line, it follows car contours, and somehow looks like it belongs. Here are a few closeups...

That was behind the rear wheel. Here's one of the most difficult pieces, the mirrors...

And finally, the hood area. I really can't recommend this enough - for the peace of mind, if you're going to keep your '03 for a long time, as I'm planning on doing, it's worth it. And again, you really have to go looking for the lines to find 'em! :coolman:

Well, I don't have the cash for this project, but if I did I sure would do this. It looks incredible. Congrats.

Thanks - I figured I'd make the outside my first priority! It was mod number one...

Thanks Frank3si! That's exactly what I've been looking for: Nice, detailed, clear pics up close. I appreciate you doing this for us, since I've been knocking the idea back and forth for weeks now. You've made my decision much easier:)
