Meh. The article doesn't really discuss the UAW and the relationship with suppliers, which were key factors in Lordstown( and GM's ) decline. GM treated their suppliers in a very hostile manner and caved very easily for UAW workers. The UAW created an environment in which workers expect a pay raise every time a new contract was renewed/created. The legacy costs are staggering. The Japanese have been superior because they always had better process technology, an excellent relationship with suppliers through asset specific relationships, and superior cars.
