So I just put a lethal intercooler tank into the car, the cap is absolutely junk. Terrible to try get off. Does anybody know if there is a different style cap that can be substituted for the original one. Say something that threads on?

Not into that tank. No.

It is a hassle. Had a fuel cell in my jeep with that style cap. Hated it.

I use a screwdriver and carefully apply pressure to get it off.

If it’s ever empty I’ll see about filing down the metal tabs it clips into

Thanks, I'll probably order one of those caps, as I literally cannot get this cap off. I'm ready to smash this POS cap. What a horrible set up.
Put some silicone grease or vaseline on the O-ring and the mating surface on the tank, it'll make it easier to remove. If you're set on a new cap, you can get a replacement that threads on: https://www.summitracing.com/search...uel-cell-cap-mounting-plate-type/6-bolt-holes
