There are little brackets that hold it on. Two bolts in each bracket, they take a 3/16 allen wrench. you take them out spin the blower how you want it then put them back in and it pulls the compressor housing tight.

does it mess anything up internally?

when you intercool do you need to relocate the battery?

As long as nothing's in the way then you're good to go. But relocating the battery wouldn't be a bad idea. It would give you more under hood space, better weight transfer, look cleaner under the hood, etc. But if your piping, and everything doesn't get in the way then your battery is just fine staying where it is.

No. Unless you decided to mount the blower on the passenger side and run a cog set up. For what you are doing no.

I would still do it. With the additional weight from the s/c and its brackets, the intercooler and piping, all on the nose of the car it would help getting the battery out of there and putting more weight over the rear wheels.

not thick enough. I'd get at the very least something 3.5" thick if it's a horizontal core.

That cooler will easily support the power he plans on making and will be easier to fit in his front bumper. You can't say there needs to be a certain thickness as different cores will be more efficient than others and some less efficient and there's much more to an intercooler being able to support X amount of HP than how thick it is. The reality is that people have used the intercooler I posted and had good IATs with similar power and more than what he plans on making. If he thinks he "needs" a thicker core then they also have a 4" thick intercooler that works well and they're not much more but you have to call about them.

How much more of a psi drop will a 4" thick intercooler have over a 3". What are the advantages of a 4" at what point does it become necessary?

There is no point in time where you exactly need a certain thickness of intercooler. Some cores that are 3" thick might cool air better than some 4" cores. It depends on how good it is, the length, the height, etc. There are more factors than just thickness. If you really want to know the exact capacity of each core then call the manufacturer up to figure it out or go by real world experience of what has worked for other people who have already tested them. Either method will get you what you need. I think the VS Racing intercoolers are some of the better cheap intercoolers and if you call them and tell them what you're trying to do they'll help you out. They're not like ebay companies who don't know what they're selling you. They know the real results from people who have been using their stuff. They will probably tell you the 3" thick intercooler will easily work for you but that it wouldn't hurt to go bigger for more cooling and room to grow later on if you make more power.

so the boost drop between a 31x12x3 and a 31x12x4 would be slim to none?

There shouldn't be much of any difference so if you can fit the bigger one go for it because it will leave you more room to grow and it you ever make more power it'd be nice to not have to even mess with it as long as you figure out it'll fit in your bumper.
