So one of my timing chain tensioners went bad and I am replacing them both with the cast iron ones. my question is, should I put some rtv between the tensioner and the head? The stock plastic ones have an o-ring on them so I'm kinda thinking I should, just want to be sure.

Thanks.

i wouldnt put any since it seemed that the surfaces were machined, and they dont come that way from the factory on the other cobras..... maybe someone else can chime in

No RTV...it's a machined surface seal. So no gasket or RTV needed...which is the way they come from the factory. I have those same ones on my car and have taken them off a few times now without issue.
