insight needed-2003 Cobra vs. 2010 R8 V10

Buddy of mine just purchased an 2010 Audi R8 the v10 version. I was going to run him just to see how my car does. What you think is my best race? Dig is probably out of the question since I am terrible off the line. What mph roll race?

40 roll and up u should pull him... i haven't driven a v10 r8 but have driven a M5 and they loved 110+ so idk he might pull u back in past 120 or so

Torque is on your side but once u hit 100mph it wont matter so if u get a big enough jump u might be able to hold him off.....u gonna run to 120 or 140?

Hasn't there been a few videos posted on here recently showing how capable the R8 V10 is from roll-on races against various cars? I could swear there were...:shrug: Anyways, the race you speak of should be a good one, OP! Please, get it on video and post it ASAP! :beer:

I really don't like going up to 140+ but we will see. The races seem to go higher in speed when it is close. I will try to have a video made.

People act like our cars just suck on the big end. My money would be on the cobra with good driving. The r8 weighs close to the weight of a cobra and your making more power.

Even with the gearing and aero advantage the Audi has the power difference is substantial... I would expect you to win at almost any point with the exception of a top speed contest.

This. I ran a M6 yesterday. Not so quick down low, but up high they shine. Keep him low and you'll give him a good run. Video please :beer:

How did that race go? With your power I would imagine you still walked away pretty easy even up top. ?

I beat him pretty easily. He didn't look to happy that he had lost. His friend was in the car oops! :rolling:

I have a buddy who ran a V10 R8 in his 430awhp Evo and he beat him down low but the R8 came back after 120mph and pulled the Evo up top. If you go from low speeds and hook you could possibly get him! Good luck!

I believe it was a simple pulley tune Cobra.

Don't forget about the E60 M5 either. They're all similar in fact I rememeber seeing the M5 pulling from the Gallardo from a roll up top.
