Anyone using an Innovative LM1? I'm checking for ground offset and having alot of trouble. With the LM1 set at 2.5V output and logging using SCT software, Livelink starts reading at about 2.716 then trends to 2.430 and bounces back and forth. But not sporatically, over a period of time, 3 minutes or so. I'm "assuming" its a ground issue and I wanted to know what others are doing.

It's not the ground that the sensor runs from that is a problem. The LM1 connects to the cig lighter (it's a portable unit). It's the ground wire for the harness that connects the LM1 to the Xcal II. that harness must be grounded well for the data to be transfered to the Xcal II without any variance. They stress this ground on the site and the directions for the LM1 so I'm assuming this is my issue. Livelink is not reading the same as the LM1. I've tried several different grounds and have reduced the variance some but not as much as I'd like. The innovative site states that if I check ground with a fixed voltage (in my case 2.5V, same as the site) I should read out 2.5V in livelink plus or minus a little that I can correct for but it should hold steady at a number. Well mine doesn't.. go figure, my luck.

I think you need to ground that wire to the same place the module is grounded.

im not familiar with the unit but how long is your ground wire?
also you said you have tried other grounds, where were the other ground located?

The harness is the ground I'm dealing with. The LM-1 runs from the cig lighter port. I've tried on the intake manifold near the fuel rail, the lug that holds the oil dip stick and now I have it on the grounding strap on the firewall that also holds a ground straight from the battery. I can't seem to find a "good" place to try it on the block. I was just curious what everyone else was using.

The ground is just long enough to reach those points and back into the cab to connect to the harness.
