In Need Of Motor!!!!!

Blew the head yesterday, shot the spark plug right out, Ford wants to charge me 4300 bucks to fix/replace it, Any CHEAPER ideas... or anyone have or know where i can get another motor for my 98 CSVT

I would say search ebay cuz i dont think they sell the svt engine any more or i guess you could do a 3l conversion.

Have you tried having a junk yard (auto salvage) do a search for you?

They still sell the motor. I had put one in the Tour I had last year. It runs about $3K but you get 3/36K on it.

If all you did was spit a plug you can fix it. Just like the Lightning guys use 'certs' you can do the same on the CSVT.

It's more like, "who was the moron that didn't use anti-seize on the threads?" :shrug:

Plug threads just don't "blow out" on their own. 99.997% of the time it's operator error. Over torque, under torque, or no anti-seize. Many times it's a combination of the three.
