I know it's a little early but I thought this was great. Thanks to all the men/women in the armed forces. Be safe.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the
VETERAN who
salutes the Flag,

It is the
VETERAN
who serves
under the Flag,

ETERNAL
REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON
THEM.

God
Bless them all!!!

At least the members of SVT get it, cause the president sure doesn't! Thanks to all the men and women in uniform!

"Obama skips Memorial Day tradition

President Obama is skipping out on Memorial Day ceremonies at Arlington this weekend - but don't worry, he'll be back in time for a Paul McCartney concert! What a guy. What a leader. But this isn't shocking, the President just doesn't seem too fond of America. Even Joe Biden has caught the 'America sucks' bug - he was recently in Brussels speaking and just couldn't resist throwing America directly under the bus"

If anyone is within driving distance of Tulsa it is worth your time to visit the Avenue of Flags at Floral Haven Cemetery. They are at 6500 S. 129th E. Ave.

Over 30 years ago a woman brought in the flag that covered her husband's casket and requested that it be flown on Memorial Day Weekend. Other people noticed and also participated. This year there will be 2712 donated casket flags displayed along the paths through the cemetery, all organized alphabetically. That number includes the 99 new flags that were donated in the last year.

In addition, there will also be a reenactment of the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This is the only place other than Arlington that has authorization to perform the ceremony. The first watch will be posted at 1300 on Saturday and the Guard will be changed every half hour until the close of ceremonies on Monday afternoon.

reagan and the first bush also did not attend

Yes, but they didn't miss it to vacation. And do you believe because somebody else did it years ago, that it makes it ok now?

Two wrongs don't make a right.
