Well I took the Cobra to National Trail Raceway yesterday and as I knew I would I had terrible traction problems. The stock F1's aren't good at the track. I only ran twice, 12.3 @116mph and 12.4@118.
60' times were 2.1 and 2.3. I wanted to see quicker times with my mods and almost 500hp. Can I get some times from you guys with stock tires? Make me feel better, tell me its the tires fault.

Well, with a good set of tires, and a good launch, you could pull off a 1.7x-1.8x 60'. That would put you in the high 11's.

the best I could do with bfg drags and a 1.86 60 ft was 12.3 at 113, something must be wrong with my car, or my driving.hope that helps..

I can't tell you from personal experience but it has to be the tires. Hell I have problems w/ my F1's and I have only had my car for a month with just a magnaflow catback. With you pushing almost 500rwhp, it HAS to be the mostly the shitty tires. With better tires I bet you could get mid 11's. my $0.02

What kinda HP are you running? Probably close to me I would think!
Also, I iced my Eaton. Heat soak makes a huge difference on mine!

I was thinking of icing the eaton next time around, I need to get it back on the dyno, it was like 100 when we tried to tune it last time, (after the apten install) and it was pulling timing. yea, I would think it would be close to 480 -500 hp

Hey Scott, the best I got yesterday was a 2.0 60' and ran a 12.6 at 114. So you got me by 3 tenths. We all need a GP on DR's or something. Do you think our verts could have anything to do with it?

Hey Scott, I got there after you left. I got in 3 runs the first two runs were almost identical 12.3 @ 117MPH. On the third run I missed third gear :( and ran 12.5 @ 116. My sixty foot times were between 2.03 and 2.05 on F1's. I think we all need DR's to get into the 11's. The conditions weren't exactly ideal either. It was equivalent to running at 3000 ft above sea level.

With similar mods, but no Apten, my best on F1s was 12.03@118. I think my best 60' on the factory tires was a 1.86. You should be able to get the F1s into the 1.9x area, with a little practice. I'm sure the weather wasn't helping, either!! Sticky tires and good weather should easily put you into the 11s. I finally put Nittos on my car, but horrible weather and a sub-par starting line kept me from improving much... 12.03@119. I look forward to some good weather and mid-11s!!

ive heard drag racers say that every tenth you save in the 60' you take 2 tenths off your 1/4 mile time.

so if you were to get a 1.9 60' on one of your runs

lets say your 12.4 run at 118 with a 1.9 60' instead of your 2.3 60' you would have ran a 11.6 1/4 mile

and that sounds right because my buddy runs 11.5 &11.4 at 119 consistant in his 69 camaro.

Could be worse, you could have my numbers, lol.

Of course I'm no where near as modded as you are, but I'm thinking it has more to do with my driving than my car. I'm still trying to learn how to launch this car & I haven't even tried to power shift yet. My best time is a 13.3. So like I said, it could be worse.

BTW, did the rain hold off at the trails last night? I was goint to go, but the weather around here made me pass on it.

Yeah the rain held off, it was a good time. As far as the et's go, we need to 60 better, my best was a 197 and I ran a 12.36. If I can just get them better and more consistent it should get alot better.

I ran a 12.50 @110 in 85 degree temps and 80 percent humidity with the mods in my sig. That was with a two hour drive with the ac on and a 1/2 hour on tech and right to the lanes.
