identify the heater tube modification? temperature sending unit?

Just curious about this modified heater tube...I purchased this engine to do a mod swap and I do believe the lines will work out fine because of the location of the heater core, just curious if theres anything I should change before I install and what is the sending unit for? Assuming thats what this is?

Thoughts? Opinions? Possible issues?

That looks like the factory temperature sending unit for the temperature gauge in the dash.

That heater tube setup is from a Lincoln Mark VIII. If you purchased the engine under the guise of it being a Cobra engine, I suggest you investigate further to confirm it is indeed a Cobra engine.
