I see you put it up for sale. You mentioned in that thread that you thought the heat issue might be due to the bypass valve. Curious why you didn't just replace it. At least you'd know whether or not it fixed the issue, and a buyer at the price point you're at would feel a lot more confident that he is not going to have to continue to invest time and money. Not breaking your chops. It just seems to be a logical question. There's a ton of stuff in your past threads that might make a buyer a bit leery. Serious question.

Because the car was listed before I thought about the bypass.

Let us know what Whipple says but I’ve had issues with bypass valves before.
Hopefully that fixes it and you can enjoy it, that’s a beautiful Cobra.
Also remember when you’re tuned on E it’s MUCH safer at higher IAT2s.
Good luck

That's another thought I had. I watched a video of Malcolm running a 9 second Cobra at the track with IAT2's in the 145-150 range and it didn't bother him because the car is on E.

I've thought about adjusting my IAT retard table to better match E85 and just use common sense when I'm on 91.

Glad it didn’t smoke your blower.

If that bypass has been stuck like that do you need to change the snout oil while you’re at it?
No, diaphragm is messed up- it simply doesn't respond to any vacuum.

Whipple Customer Service is absolute shit.

P.S. LOL... already changed the snout. ****ing garbage.

I’m not sure if the Whipples were as bad as the KB but if the bypass was bad or you had big cams and didnt do the low vacuum bypass the heat would wreck those blowers is why I mentioned it maybe being hard on the oil in the snout. If you’ve recently messed with that it’s probably fine
