V8's at Toyota are done for. I saw Toyota talking how the V35A-FTS has 1/5 the emissions of the old 5.7 and half the emissions of Ford's 3.5 Turbo. This is something they claim to prioritized over max fuel economy or power output. *Shrug Toyota certianly has a vision for the future and I have to admit, it sounds better then those pushing EVs. About 10 years ago we had a consultant who's best friend worked at Toyota, head of seat design and safety. The friends brother had been a traveling salesman who died from a leg blood clot caused by to much wheel time 30 years of various years Ford Taurus. Toyota stated goal was to never cause harm to its vehicles owners. This comes in Toyotas extensive and intrusive safety systems (DENSO invented the Radar cruise control) as well as why apparently new Toyotas "smell" different (reducing toxic plastic odor). Apparently Toyota has a lot of effort in seat comfort and also those annoying "you've been driving for more than 3hrs, pull over and rest warnings".
