Ridin FAIL, equipment FAIL, total FAIL. First purchase for all my bikes was a damper, always made sure tires were good and ego was left in the garage!
Judging from the hand controls it looks like he dropped back a gear and got on it; she got loose and corkscrewed sending him into the end of the wall there. And it seems there is a huge dropoff on the other side of the bridge/wall whatever, and he didn't go over that way.
