How to tell if it is a real lightning?

This truck is for sale and I am wondering if it is a real lightning. Can you tell from the VIN?

I am having a sneaky suspiscion that it is not a real lightning, but just a clone.

It's a lightning if the eighth digit in the vin is an "R".

Well, it seems I may have a chance to pick up a 93 red lightning with ~150K miles. What do you think its worth in decent condition? (some rust over the rear wheels but the paint looks good over the rest of the truck)
