anyonw with recommendations on a tool or method/technique for removing oil filter. Looks difficult & don't want to buy the wrong tool. All my filter removal tools are for smaller import sized filters.

Geepaw,
looks like you could just use an expandable (band) type wrench. I understand theres this new universal type out that has 3 pivoting fingers that are supposed to be the best thing out there. One thing I do above all is punch a hole in the filter before removing it so the oil in the filter drains, that way theres no mess when you spin off the filter. Of course theres always the channel lock method, if you can get it in there.

thanks.....I looked up some old threads and was prepared for the mess. Did the plastic bag over the tue rods and it made most of the oil go int pan with little mess.

I ended up getting a professional grade
oiler filter wrench from kragen It did the
job but sucks as far as comfort.
