This procedure is for American Muscle 10.5x17 03 cobra wheels. The factory cap fingers are too short to lock into the AM wheels.
1) measure the depth of the factory caps ~0.240"
2) cut the top off the factory caps. They are adhered with foam tape. Use a box knife. Measure the thickness of the top piece ~0.120" remove the foam. Alcohol will soften the foam and adhesive.
3) mill/sand the plastic AM caps down to 0.240 - 0.120 = 0.120". A belt sander will work. Takes about 15-20 min. be careful not break them as they get smaller.
4) Glue the top of the cap to the milled base. I used black RTV sealant.
5) After they are dry pop them in and have a beer
