I have a 2013 GT500 and it came with the option of a Torsen diff from factory. I will run bias ply tires and will soon have about 820-850whp.

How strong is the Torsen diff ???

The torsen is for finesse around a race track, not brute strength.

A vendor told me he blew his up with slicks.

Go trutrack. Or strange s-track if you feel like upgrading axles also.

No matter what, the gears will get noisy after the first launch.

Yes you'll need a better diff. Torsen is great but not for drag shock loading.
I'd run a 35-spline Strange 8.8 diff.
You'll need to fully build the rear with 9" ends, FRPP G2 cover, bracing, welded tubes and axles (my Moser 33s have adapters for stock brakes, I'm not sure if they or Strange make 35s that do the same).
Launching on bias plys will help either way.
Good luck.

That looks like a lot of home work... Dont you think a built Trutrac 33 spline will be good enough for 800whp?

It's what I run, but 35 was not available when I built mine.
These are heavy powerful stick cars, they need all the help they can get:)

The Strange 35 spline install with all its components (c-clip eliminators, abs, etc) was not too difficult of an install as per the shop I used. If you have a good shop within reach I wouldn’t shy away from it...plants power much better than stock. So far I’m loving mine.

I have had a buddy of mine at the track at stock power level but with slicks blow his torsen during a launch at the track. So would definitely recommend upgrading if you are playing with slicks and upgraded power.

I haven't seen this stated for a while...
With sticky tires on this car, the 'fuse' is:
1. The clutch
2. The differential
Stock axles are the same as a v6, though sometimes they survive abuse for a while.

Just finished my build. Strange 35 spline axles, s trac, c clip eliminators, welded axle tubes and braced. You won't regret it. You'll notice the difference right away

My Torsen went out from drags as well. Went with Wavetrak. That lasted a week. BUT, Wavetrak stepped up to the plate and replaced it with 33 spline Wavetrak, Moser axles, 9" ends, etc. Currie did the build. Had an outer axle bearing go out on the passenger side after a while. Had that replaced and it's doing great so far other than that.
If i did it all over again, i would have done 9" rear though...8.8s suck and always whine no matter what imo.
