how much power can a stock block handle. i am looking to buy a 98 cobra and i want to be in the 475-500 rwhp range?

i know this is possible b/c everything is possible, but can the engines handle this or no?

The BLOCK can hold 1200HP (teksid block).

The ENGINE itself in its stock state, however, needs a little work to get into that range.

The crankshaft is forged, but I would go ahead and forge out the Rods and Pistons before you strap a blower on it and throw lots of boost at it.

If you really wanna get up to that range, port and polish the B-Heads, forge out the rods and pistons with a strong H-Beam and some pistons to put the engine around 9.0:1 compression, bore the engine .020 over and put some Stage 2 Cams in, put a nice blower on it, upgrade the rear end to a 31 spline setup, get a stronger clutch, strengthen the tranny a lil bit, badda bing, you're in and over that HP range you are shooting for.
