I am in the process of cleaning my Steeda air filter. I was going to re-oil it with K&N oil. Is this the way to go? Has anybody done this? Steeda is closed otherwise I would call them.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the kit that Steeda sells to clean it has oil... I can't say for sure though, as they're backordered on it and I'm still waiting for mine (which I ordered with my cold air kit).

By the way, how often are you supposed to clean it?

in some regard they need to be dirty to work well.....keep that in mind

also keep in mind that too much oil can splash onto the maf and cause problems

Less is more. Just run a thin bead down the edge of each rib and it'll spread in by itself.

If I have the time, I let the filter sit out on its nose for a while to make sure no excess oil will run off it.
