How much hp can the new 5.0s/auto handle?

Ive got to say, im very impressed with the new 5.0 capabilities.. much more so then the 4.6 motors I was use to back when I had a stang..

The other day with a beautiful blue 5.0.. had rts wheels and a vortech and just getting into the 9s.. i believe with a stock motor and auto trans..

are they really able to handle some abuse and big power?

the oil pump gears & rods seem to be a weak point, like many motors.

they do alright but the rumor is anything over 600whp is running on borrowed time.


the auto trans is a big hit man. it can take gobs of torque and there is a wide selection of tq converters for it.
