How much boost from a stock L?

I bought a used 2000 L and was woundering how much boost it should produce if it doesn't have a pulley on it, I've heard that it should show about 8 PSI on the stock guage, mine will peg the guage and looks to go to about 12 PSI. I looked at the lower pulley and it still has the guard or cage installed. Could the previous owner have done a different mod to get that much boost , or do I just have a happy guage?

Congrats on owning a Lightning:beer: The boost gauge is probably wrong. It is a dummy gauge. The stock boost is 8#s.
Though your previous owner may have put a bigger pulley on.
Some of the other guys on here will tell you how to check for that.:beer:

Nope just a happy gauge. Mine does that to with a stock pulley, and it is 8lbs

Thanks for the input guys, I didn't want to go spend the money on a pulley if it already had one on it.

Look for an upper pulley too! That could increase the boost...

Most stock gauges read a little higher than 8#s... A Cold Air Intake and an aftermarket TB will make the gauge read falsely higher...
