Hood struts...

I am thinking about replacing the hood kick-stand with a set of hood struts. Has anyone done this mod yet?

Assuming the kit uses hydraulic struts, how do you then handle the closing of the hood. It requires that you drop it from a substantial height to lock and close.

You can still slam a hood with lifters. I do it on my F150 all the time. They don't resist that much. Just enough to hold it open. Same way you can slam the trunk shut with lifters.
