hood shocks

i just installed a cervins cowl hood.Now my hood wont stay up.It stays up for a minute then slams shut .Should i replace with different shocks or what.

that hood is heavy if the shocks cant hold it

had the same problem with my Cervinis hood on the '07GT. The shocks that came with a kit for the stocker weren't strong enough for the heavier fiberglass hood. My solution was to go back to the prop rod, which really won;t work for a Lightning application. Sorry I couldn't be of help.
