Hood bumper fitting question

I got an 03 cobra front bumper and the stock 01 hood. I'm having problems getting the hood to fit right to close. Anyone know how?

What do you mean by getting it to fit right? If you're talking about the gap between the posts inside the headlight and the front of the hood, that's always going to be there. The 03/04 hood comes down a little further then our hoods.

I had the same issue, there is a thread that brings attention to this problem, it's either on this forum or another, can't remember.

You need to take the two pillars of the front bumper that form the upper grille area and push them back as far as you can get them, redrill new holes where they are pushed back, and then secure it. I did this, and still had to sand/dremel a bit of material from the underside of my '99 hood & touch it up w/touch-up paint for it to clear.

Damn, I think I was backwards. I must have been thinking of the 03/04 hood with our front bumper.

Yea mine is a 03-04 hood with a 99 bumper and I have the gaps above the pillars.

i had the same issue. i just moved the hood forward and shimmed the latch. just a quick fix until funds are available for a proper hood
