This is a question for the people that have gone without it all together.......

Any paint issues?

Any problems at all ?

Thanks,

J.

Took mine off a week ago. No issues yet.

AM radio works perfectly and the underside of my hood is shining with Zaino just like the rest of my car.

What did you do with the antenna ground under the hood??
I took blanket off my 96 and AM reception was only good without motor running..

I took mine off last night...the hood blanket that is. To my surprise, after 6400miles the blanket had rubbed the underside of the hood sufficiently to rub through the paint in some of the raised areas.

I'm leaving the blanket off, but there are some ugly spots under there that need some TLC. I'll probably blow a whole bottle of touchup paint getting it looking OK. :(

Take this as a warning. If you are considering removing the hood blanket...DO IT NOW...DO NOT WAIT LIKE I DID.

BTW, those heat extractor grilles on the hood are flimsy POS's. You can pop them out by just pushing lightly on the underside of them, they will pop out right onto your hood...don't ask me how I know.

I'd be worried that if they were completely metal inserts that the heat build-up would damage the surrounding paint. I think they would have to isolate the metal from the hood with some kind of ruber or soft thermal gasket

My hood blanket has been off for close to 800 miles now and I do not have any discoloration of the paint on my hood whatsoever. There was a site I found that sells replacement blankets for like 65 bucks but I cannot remember what it was. Will try and find the site later when I have more time and list it back here.
