I decided to really open up the factory airbox. I cut open the extra airbox I had and it seems to work great with a drop in K&N. It will work for now until I get the Steeda or K&N FIPK.

Anybody else do this? Think it give any gains over a K&N in the factory airbox?

I have a few large pictures of it if anyone is interested in seeing them. I don't have any pictures hosted but if anyone wants to host them I can email some to you.

Some members did this when they got their cars because there was no aftermarket yet.

Yeah, I figured others have done it as well. It is quick and easy to do. Just curious if it helps any.
