I live in NC and need to get an ice hockey helmet for the grandson. I know nothing about them, so i am asking you cold weather guys what is considered to be the best for protection?? I can not find any good reviews on them and none are Snell rated.

I would imagine they all offer about the same protection. I played hockey all through my youth and didn't notice any real difference between brands. I would just recommend whatever you get fits well and is not too tight or too loose. Here are some of the more popular brands.

this is the one that I am thinking about. Bauer 5100 Hockey Helmet Combo we have no stores anywhere around in NC that has anything but Play it Again Sports with a few used ones.
