How true that is, I witnessed a young 0-2 in the Navy who's career was ruined due to him thinking he was smarter than the average idiot. He spoke out to a Congressman who was visiting our ship, bashing the Congressman for a particular stance on an issue (I can't remember). That LTjg never made LT and was forced out of the Navy just for voicing his opinion. Any Navy guy on here will tell you that the promotion from LTjg to LT is pretty much automatic as long as there is no disiplinary issues. First and only 0-2 I've ever seen passed over (twice) for 0-3 in my 24yrs of service.....
