High pitched whine in 6th gear

Has anyone experienced a high pitched whine from the transmission when in 6th gear. Doesn't seem to matter at what speed or whether gas pedal is pressed or released.

My Cobra has only 115 miles on it yet. Should I wait for more miles or is this a serious problem?:shrug:

I had a slight whine too, but it went away with time. I attributed it to parts breaking in.

I have about 250 miles on mine and it too whines in 5th and 6th gear.

With break-in miles the whine should go away. If not, check fluid level or get the dealer to investigate.

Mine whines all the time....but that may be attributed to my right foot!!!! With 3500 mile on mine the whine went away at about 400 miles!! still pulling to the right from time to time though....may be these crappy wyoming roads.

Gear Whine

My car makes more noise in fifth and sixth gear than any other gear, but I don't think of it as a problem - just Ford tolerances.

If you are really uncomfortable with the noise, there are some alternatives people on here have talked about.

Two of the four involved additives or synthetic fluids, one was baffling/absorbing the noise with materials, and one was modifiying an aftermarket shifter.
