I was very careful about breaking in my engine, ran it at varying RPMS keeping it below 4000 RPMS for the first 1000 miles. Did oil change at 1500 miles. Kept it under 6000 RPMS until it reached 2000 miles. Constantly checking oil level. Next oil change I did at 4200 miles. When I hit about 6000 miles the car started using oil. Did another oil change at 7200 miles. At 9000 miles took it in for the oil consumption test. Results where 400 miles it used 3 quarts of oil. So they have now replaced it and I am starting this process all over. The dealership reported that the cylinder walls were scored. Disappointed with Ford and the dealership. It took them 27 days to get it replaced. The rental they gave me was a Ford Escape, considering how much I paid for the GT350 I thought that they should have given me a Explorer or a F150. When asked, the Ford Motor Company would not offer any compensation for my time and money spent. They also would not replace the CATs that now have had excessive oil run through them. Starting to think about getting away from FORD, this is clearly on them. Have talked with several dealerships about the GT350 and they have told me that there has been quite a few of these cars that have had there engines replaced.
