While conducting a google search for "high octane gas" in CA, I came across a list of locations in Central & Northern CA from a Corvette Forum.

I know this list may not be helpful for most of you, however, for us in CA it's nice to know that we can get higher octane gas from locations other than Raceways/Speedshops.

I don't know the current accuracy of this list, you may want to call and verify before visiting a location. Until I saw this list, I never knew the "Sunol" gas station carries 91,94,98,100 octane. OMG! This station is 15min from my house and I used to pass is every day for 2 years commuting to San Jose. Then again, I never needed to look for >91 octane until now.

I vouch for the Sunol station as that is a quickie ride through Niles Canyon (probably 15 minutes tops) and I am able to get all the high octane gas I want. On a side note I don't think they had 91 octane. I think they only have 87-94-96-98-100.

The only neg I can think of is how clean the gas is. Not everyone runs 96-98-100 so I stick to their 94 on an assumption that more people fill up with that and the gas is in the underground tank is refilled more often than the others.

More than likely the location uses the 100 and 87 in different ratios to attain the mid octane numbers, thus anything over 87 uses some 100 from the tank.

Just got back from filling up with 94 octane. You are correct - at that particular pump, no 91. The rest of the pumps run the standard 87,89,91. Also, I noticed they have E85. Great little station, glad I finally stoped by there.

94 octane was 5.49/gal (I may be off a few cents). 100 octane was over $16/gal. If you wanna play, you gotta pay.
