Looking at a 2003 Cobra with 120,000 miles, all stock. Should I be concerned with the high mileage? I know these motors are strong but how long do they generally last? Any help appreciated as this is my first Cobra.
The 4.6 modular was used in older police cars then in Taxi's after that sometimes! Routine oil change and maintenance and that 120,000 mile Cobra should have quite a bit of life left. Guy on here has over 300,000 on his Cobra! I think something has been rebuilt a time or two, but still going strong none the less!
Do a compression test on the motor and make sure all cylinders are with 15% or so highest to lowest, maybe a leak down test if possible, and watch for smoke on initial start up. Also listen for any unusual ticks, knocks, etc under the hood. Good luck, bud!
My buddy has a 03 with almost 200000km on it...full bolt ons and tune since day one...with good maintaince...car still runs like new and still waiting new iron! Haha
