High Idle and backfiring

Hi guys ive been having iddle issues with the car lately and cant figure out what causing the problem. It drives fine but when I coast to a stop it just revs to almost 2K and it stays there for a while and then comes back down. Car also backfires and sounds horrible when I let off the gas when im coasting to a stop. Any suggestions would be appriciated.:beer:

How much does it come down to?? It sounds like a vacuum leak and a bad enough leak will cause a lean misfire or backfire.. Hard to say without hook a vacuum gauge and scan tool to it though.

Spark plugs, wires, possible tune issue, hanging rpms is defintly indicitive of a vacuum leak... break out the carb cleaner.

Thanks guys found the problem.... It was a hole in one of the vacuum lines.

yup yup. what caused a hole in it and where?? It rubbed or something or just old and deteriorated?
